Privacy Policy

IlmGhar ("we", "us") operates ilmghar.pk and connects students with verified home tutors in Rawalpindi and Islamabad. This page explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data we collect

• Account: name, email, phone number, password (hashed).
• Tutor profile: age, gender, address area, CNIC, degree certificate, photo, bio.
• Usage: hiring requests, lesson confirmations, reviews, payment records.
• Technical: IP address, browser, device, cookies for session management.

How we use it

• To create and operate your account.
• To verify tutor credentials against the HEC database.
• To match students with tutors and process hiring requests.
• To record payments and resolve disputes.
• To send transactional emails (verification, hiring updates, payment receipts).

Who can see what

A tutor's public profile shows their name, photo, degree, institution, subjects, rate, area, and reviews. CNIC, email, phone, and personal address are never shown publicly. Student first names only appear next to verified reviews — never the email or phone.

Data sharing

We do not sell your data. We share necessary information with our payment processors, email service (Resend), and hosting provider (Supabase, Vercel). We may disclose data if required by Pakistani law.

Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data at any time by emailing support@ilmghar.pk. We will respond within 30 days.
